A couple of Weeks ago after the surprise commitment of Will Barton to Memphis I wrote an article called UK’ Hot New Target, the story focused on  Jelan Kendrick the 6 -6 180 lbs wing man from Atlanta GA who at the time was ranked #11 on Rivals, well after the new rankings, Jelan has leap froged Will Barton and jumped the the #4 slot overall in the 2010 rankings .

Couch Calipari has been recruiting Kendrick since he was at Memphis and the interest seems to be Mutual.

Jelan Kendrick was often criticized as being a finesse player and not being aggressive with the ball, but that view is changing fast, Jelan has all the skill, he excels in the uptempo transition games, and is explosive  in the open court, but what has impressed observers, and propelled Kendrick up the rankings is his smooth versatile floor game, he has a silky shot from 3 and has all the moves inside our out.

Look for the UK staff to put the full court press on this rising star.
