SEC East Predictions (Football)

footballAs wide open as the SEC West is this year, that’s how much the SEC East is locked up with Florida being in it. Although I agree with about everybody about Florida being #1 in the East, you might be surprised at where some others end up.

#1. Florida (11-1):    One would think that with the loss of Percy Harvin to the NFL that Florida wouldn’t be near as dangerous as last year right? WRONG!  With the return of Tim Tebow along with many others who could have followed Harvin to the NFL, the Gators should be as strong as ever. Expect to see Florida in the BCS Championship game again this year. The SEC is just to strong for a team to go undefeated, as it has shown in the past with Florida last year but just like last year unless it happens late in the year it shouldn’t keep Florida out of the Championship game.

#2. Georgia (9-3):    I fully expect Georgia to be a really good team again this year, but the lose of Matthew Stafford and Moreno I don’t see them being as good as last year.

#3. South Carolina (7-5):    The only reason I put South Carolina at the 3 spot is because they play Kentucky at South Carolina. I don’t expect to see much if any improvement from Spurriers team this year, so expect a up and down year were one game you will say “man look at how good SC looks”" and the next game say “wow SC sure didn’t come ready to play today”.

#4. Kentucky (7-5):    While I have UK with the same record as SC, I have UK losing to SC. I honestly would not be very surprised if UK didn’t slide up to the #3 spot, but their schedule which consists of 11 straight ball games worries me a little. I can see UK losing as many as 7 games, but can also see them winning as many as 8 games. This is in my opinion the year UK finally beats UT which will be played at UK, I think that Lane Kiffin  may end up being UT Billy Gillespie which only time will tell cause I could be wrong on that one.

#5. Tennessee (6-6):    In my opinion their is just to much negativity surrounding UT and Lane Kiffin, between all the stuff Kiffin has said to all the recruiting violations and recruits possibly being ineligible (rb, Bryce Brown). While I don’t see UT making a dramatic turn around this year, I do think they have enough talent to win as many as 7 games but I think 6 is their magic number. Look for UT in one of the smaller bowl games this year, which will be better than none at all which was the case last year.

#6 Vanderbilt (5-7):    Vandy has become a threat under Head Coach Johnson, but I still think they end up around the bottom of the SEC East but as close as the 3rd through 6th teams are together anything can happen.

From South Carolina at #3 to Vandy at #6 is gonna be a tight race, and while I have them ranked where I do it would not surprise me if all the last four teams ended up ranked in a different spot depending on how the ball bounces. While the bottom four fight it out for position don’t expect much of a fight at the top, with Florida being the easy pick for the #1 spot and Georgia being a pretty easy selection at the #2 spot.[ad]

This is the year!!!

football_1_1024I have been blasted on a live blog by non other than Matt Jones himself, and by others on another site for making the statement that this is the year that the Cats FINALLY beat UT. Matt went on to tell me that there is no way that UK will beat UT and that it just wont happen. I on the other hand don’t believe that UK has no chance and on here I am getting the chance to tell everyone why I believe UT will go down this year.

First off, if not for Randell Cobb going down last year, along with Lyons and Locke earlier in the year, last year would have been the year. I was actually at that game last year sittin in the UT student Section decked out in my UK gear lmao, cause my wife’s cousin attends UT and trust me they were scared. Until Cobb went down we were in the game, actually for the biggest part of the first half we were in the lead. Secondly and probably even more important, while UT did get a new coach and now more energy towards their program Kiffin is not and I repeat is not Calipari so don’t expect a really quick turn around. Thirdly, from what I am hearing half of their freshman may not be eligible because of recruiting rules being broken (actually only a couple of players), and not just that but Kiffin is in some deep do-do over some of the things he has done in recruiting and other things. Last but not least, UK plays UT at home this year and while that has not made a difference in the past I believe this year will be different because our players know that they can win the big games now and they are thirsty to do it some more. Don’t forget that Micah Johnson and a few ohters have a score to settle with some UT players over a incident over the summer, Johnson is one man I wouldn’t want to make mad.

All in all I see UK beating UT this year and I am going to put a prediction score on here and say UK 24, UT 20. I also believe UK finishes 4th in the East ahead of UT by one spot, I have received some comments from ppl who don’t agree with me on that one either but I will have more on that one later.

Big Tim McAdoo !!!

TIMMCADOO2_12200-703411DAWG that’s a big ole boy right there.

This is a picture of UK newest verbal commit Big Mac Tim McAdoo.

This DT is from Murfeesboro Tenn, and had offers from U of L, Memphis and others, he comes in at a massive 6-2 330lbs, he recorded 99 tackles this past season and moves quite well for his size.

This makes UKs forth commitment for the 2010 class, which still leaves it well behind anyone else in D1, In my hunble opinion the brain trust of Brooks/Phillips needs to get on the ball or the phone or the recruiting trail or whatever just get it done.

And just to get totally off topic am I the only one who thinks that you should never promise a coaching job to an Assistant years before the job opening ??? Just asking.

Andre Woodson Blowing it on Monday Night !!!!

andre-woodson-main

Former Cat Andre Woodson is getting every opportunity to make his mark on the New York Football Giants, and Coach Tom Coughlin has been singing his praises as of late, saying he was a different player from last year, but so far on the Monday Night Football Pre Season Game he is stinking it up, throwing a pick on his first series, then almost throwing a interception on his first toss of his second drive, then going 3 and out.

Andre, Andre, Andre come on son you will only get so many chances in the league to make an impact, the thing I see that is hurting Woodson, is he has a very slow release, and throws poorly when he is forced out of the pocket.

Andre sacked on first snap of his third series, then throws a nice pass in traffic on third down, with nice timing, then proceeds to heave 3 incomplete passes.

Well i’m done watching this garbage, hopefully Woodson can get it together and represent UK in the pros.
