This is a huge recruiting weekend in Lexington as two of UK’s top targets are playing in town friday and Saturday and both will attend the game at Rupp against Georgia.
CJ Leslie the #5 rated player in 2010 is the former teammate of Cats star John Wall at Word of God Academy in North Carolina.
CJ played Friday night at Lexinton Catholic and most of the team and the entire staff showed up for the second half, Wall and Big Cuz visited the locker room after the game and Cj says he is feeling a lot of love from the Cats and their fans, he said he is part of the family and UK has the best fans he has ever seen, UK looks like it is a major player in this recruitment, and many feel that the kid called Baby KG for his similar game to NBA Star Kevin Garnett could have the most up side of any player in the class of 2010. check out the interview below and go out tonight and support Cj at Lex Cath after the Cats Game.

The other big target in town is 2011 super stud Quincy Miller, who is ranked #3 in his class, he dominated in his game Friday night in front of Coach Cal and most of the team, and after the game he was sporting UK gear and gushing about his love for the Cats, UK is definitly the leader for this kid and need to get this kid locked up.

Wow, this has been an insane week , literally it seems the inmates are running the asylum, we started the week with death treats which I always enjoy, and then on my way home today I saw two dudes and a fat chick fighting in the middle of a busy KY highway(true story), I came up on what looked like a fender bender at a stop light on US 27 when a short stocky bald guy and a big ponytail sporting biker started throwing down right in the middle of the road, this was comical enough but then a huge heavyset lady with six inches of butt crack showing came flying around the side of a car and jumps on the back of the bald guy and  bites him in the neck, CRAZY, best fight outside the UFC or WWE I’ve seen in years.

But the real insanity has been going on with our ex UK coaches first off the always humble Rick Pitino could not believe that the media would release the Karen Sypher interrogation tapes on the day Ted Kennedy died, my god this guy is removed so far from reality that he blames everyone in the press for hurting his wife, but seems to not realize that if he had kept wee man in his pants this could have all been avoided. This is a man losing touch, Karen Sypher looked like a complete mental case in the police interview, this could only help his case, but instead of letting her hang herself in the court of public opinion, he proceeds to make her look like the sane one. Cut your loses  Jurich, I’m sure U of L can find a coach with less baggage, hey Billy Gillispie is available, oh wait.

In one of the finer examples of Karma that I have ever witnessed, the Clyde was arrested for a DUI early this morning in Anderson county, after an apparent session of night golf, now  I hate to poke fun at a man who is obviously suffering from alcoholism, but with his overbearing arrogant demeanor he makes it a hard opportunity to pass up. It has also come to light(in the form of a wild office rumor) that the young man in the car had just made his acquaintance earlier in the evening, and the cop only saw one head in the car before he pulled them over, now I have no doubt that this is just a completely false office rumor gone wild but you have got to love this story on so many levels, maybe they were on the way to a cornhole tournament. I’m sure I will get a few more death treats for this to, but what is the internet for if not spreading visious rumors ?

But in all seriousnous this has got to destroy Billy’s resume and Andy Katz believes he will have to start back in the assistant ranks,  the Clyde soap opera is reminisant of train crash, you just can’t make yourself turn away.

And one more note on the Pitino Rant, in keeping with his promise to run his program with integrity he is rumored to have offered a job to Shabaka Lands an assitant coach at Marquis Teagues Pike High school .

Well tomorrow is Friday and unless we awaken to reports of Tubby Smith running naked across the frozen tundra of Minnesota, maybe this week will end on a more sane note. But at least we never have to worry about Eddie Sutton being found passed out drunk in the parking lot, OH D*M#

There is a great article in the Washinton post today, about the street agents on the AAU circuit, and how not just the elite talent have these hangers on, now even the mid level players have the leaches hanging on trying to get a handout, the story focuses on Joe Davis who represents Mychal Parker a player UK showed some interest in, this is likely the reason Cals interest wained, because it seems Davis is looking for a job at the school that lands Parker, now this happens alot with the OJ Mayo types, but this kid is ranked in the 70s.

Brett Favre is back and practicing with the Minnisota Vikings, this guy just wont stay retired, but I can empathize with Brett I’m knocking on forty and I still try to play sports even though my body rejects the idea, but even if its just for a short burst it feels good to school the young punks.

The Sporting News has John Wall at the top spot in their NBA Mock Draft for next year and Pat Patterson in the 9th spot.

Randall Cobb is in Georgia having his back examined, lets hope he is alright, or you can put this season in the crapper.

It looks like UK and Miami are the top two for Brandon Knight,  with Duke getting mild interest, is this deja vu from the Wall recruitment.

UK is still in the top five for Marquis Teague, this kid reminds me a lot of John Wall in ways, I would like to see UK put the full court press on this guy.

Here is a great interview with Cal yesterday at a camp in Madisonville, this guy is a master behind a mike, and in my opinion even more engaging than that other Italian we used to have.
